H&S & Environment
We are continually striving to improve our performance. We work hard to provide safe, clean and healthy environments for our staff, partners and members of the public.
The health of our employees is important to us. We have implemented a programme of regular medical checks to help reduce work-related illness and encourage positive lifestyle choices.
We have a dedicated health and safety advisory team which provides advice and support regarding accident prevention, risk assessment and health and safety awareness. Our performance is monitored both in-house and independently to maintain the safety culture at all levels.
As you would expect, all our management team hold the IOSH Directing Safely or CITB Directors Role for Health & Safety in Construction Certificates, our Site Managers hold the CITB SMSTS Certificate as minimum and our site Supervisors hold either the CITB SMSTS or SSSTS. All key personnel are qualified First Aiders and we are working towards all personnel being first aid trained as company policy. Further to this we are currently working with an external training provider to ensure all our staff hold the relevant CSCS & CPCS Cards to the standard which meets their role.
Swale Valley Construction Ltd recognises the importance of environmental protection and is committed to operating its business responsibly and in compliance with all environmental regulations, legislation and approved professional codes of practice relating to the recycling of materials and protection of the environment.
We embed the principles of sustainability within our procurement activities to ensure that only value for money products are selected and that in all cases a balanced consideration of social, ethical, environmental and economic impacts are undertaken throughout the procurement process.
To meet the sustainability requirements for all our new homes we are constantly working closely with consultants to consider the most efficient and best form of renewable alternatives and solutions. We have recently gained CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Accreditation) & we are currently working towards Constructionline membership as well as gaining OHSAS18001, ISO14001 & ISO9001.
